African Drumming Lessons

Drumming lessons are interactive sessions of fun. We teach people of various ages the dynamics of African drumming with a relaxed approach that enhances learning.

What you'll learn / What to expect:

Traditional hand techniques and major drum tones in African Djembe drumming
How to play these tones in different beat arrangements
The concepts of timing
How to count and anticipate
How to create new beats and compliment existing ones.

Private Lessons

Afriquetone's private lessons offer one-on-one tuition. Lessons are also available for couples and for small or large groups.

Afriquetone will arrange a suitable time and location to suite your preference... at a community centre, at work, or even in the comfort of your own home.

Drum Circles

Afriquetone also organises drum circles where people can meet regularly to play together, learn new rhythms, shape their skills and exchange ideas. Drum circles are fun sessions suitable for beginners, intermediate and experienced drummers.

Open to all ages (6 yrs and older), everyone can contribute in a Drum Circle.

Venue: Aberdeen Arts Centre
Date: Every Saturday all through the summer (As of the 7th of May 2011)
Time: 1:30pm to 3pm
Cost: Only £5.00 per head.
