Afriquetone is dedicated to promoting cultural cohesion by teaching the dynamics of African drumming and percussion, and also to explore its use as an alternative method for relieving stress, building self confidence, improving team work, enhancing concentration and coordination. Managed by Aberdeen's most esatbalished drummer, 'Bongo Dave', Afriquetone focuses on the features of African rhythm that differentiate it from other kinds of music.

African drumming is unique in many ways; for instance, the tonal variation achieved from African drums makes it an ideal tool for communication. Secondly, the flexible nature of African beat patterns differentiates it from predictable and monotonous rhythms and thus, makes it also suitable for self-expression.
